In Greene County district court Rexo Lucas Mackey, 38, of Gueda Springs, KS, was sentenced Aug. 6 to one year in jail after he pleaded guilty to one county of identity theft. All but 30 days of the jail time was suspended and he was place on probation for two years. He must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves. Mackey was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $1,002.81 victim restitution and $750 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $1,075.76. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Randy Jason Milliken, 55, of Otho, gambling- cheat or alter outcome of game; Brittany Ann Neal, 24, of Scranton, driving while license barred; and Tonya Lynne Mitchels, 30, of Paton, operating while intoxicated- first offense. Trial dates of Sept. 25 were set for Milliken and Mitchels. A trial date of Oct. 30 was set for Neal.
Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending Aug. 9 as follows: Heide Marie Chapman, 29, of Perry, operate vehicle without owner’s consent; Jeremy Joe Orfield, 25, of Grand Junction, sex abuse- second degree and lascivious acts with a child- solicitation; Kathleen Ann Specht, 59, of Jefferson, public intoxication- third or subsequent offense; and Hayley Lynn Brown, 25, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense.
